The project is running to its end and everybody feels different about it. Some of the students have a clear view of what they want after this course. There is even a student who has an interview this Friday! I really hope that he will get the job, because he has come so far during this course. He didn’t speak at us in the beginning and he told us that he really want to give a little speech at the graduating night, in front of 30 people. That’s amazing, isn’t it?

There are students who want to get back to school or a course to get more skills. And the rest want to work, with animals, in social work or something else. They don’t have to do it on their own, after this course. There is a team called Outreach team, who will help them with everything what they need. It’s not only for support, because they can even help you with arranging child or dogcare ;).

I did an activity, because I have to show school that I’m doing something here to help the students. So I organised an activity about handling emotions during a work situations, in a proper way. They had to give examples of how they would handle in week 5 and 10 and compare the answers. It has changed, because they will ask for more help now if they need it. In week 5 were the answers a lot like, I would hold my anger or sadness inside and now are the answers more like, I would share my feelings with somebody I trust etc. Pretty interesting ;)

Last Saturday was it finally time for the Loch Ness monster! I went there with two Danish guys, from my Christmas diner. There was a lot of snow, because it’s more in the north and Highlands. The snow made it look beautiful and the sun either. We made a long walk to the Urquhart castle, that’s on the Loch Ness. The Loch is really calm, because it lies between mountains. We didn’t see the monster, but two wild deer’s made our walk worth it too. After a long walk was it time for a Loch ness stout beer, in a local pub.

Leonie is here now, so I’ll show here around in the city. I’ve to leave my room this Saturday, so I will move to Inverurie. Claire (the development coach from the REACH project) offered me a place to stay, so that’s nice!

I will make my last blog next week on the Friday or Saturday, before I leave to country!
Cheerio!

Tijdens de drie maanden in Aberdeen zal ik een kort dagboek bijhouden, zodat jullie een beetje op de hoogte kunnen blijven! Ik zal proberen elke week een stukje te schrijven en hopelijk wat mooie foto's toevoegen.
