Week 8 en 9

Happy New Year!!
I hope you all had a great holiday and are ready for a new year. The last weeks were great for me, because I saw a lot of nice things, ate good food and saw Pascal! I’ll start at the beginning ;)
After saying good bye to Freek, we worked hard on the project. They finished their community project and made a lot for the meeting room. The woman off the Wellness Center was overwhelmed and couldn’t stop saying thank you! They made beautiful paintings, an ottoman, shelving, pillow/table covers and a book (for during your waiting time). They were so proud and me too!
We went out on Christmas Eve and I was invited to a diner at Clare’s on Christmas day. She is a teacher at RGU and has two boys from Denmark in her home. They are here for a placement too. When I arrived there, they were busy cooking. All the food was amazing! I will look for the recipes
They don’t really celebrate the second day of Christmas, but its Boxing Day. This means sale! All the stores were open and there were a lot of people! Funny to see.
Monday the 28th was it time to go to Edinburgh and meet up with Pascal! It’s a beautiful old city, with a castle in the middle! We had whisky, walked a lot, finally saw ‘The Hunger Games’, ate burgers and saw a great firework show at New Year Eve. After our saying good bye, I went on St’ Arthur’s seat again, because the view from there on the city is amazing! The train journey back to Aberdeen was beautiful too, because it’s across the coastline.
And now my lost month here is started! Full of schoolwork, finishing up the project, visits from my parents and Leonie and a lot of exploring to do in the country.

Hoi Astrid,
Wat gaat de tijd snel hè? Vooral als je het zo druk hebt als jij met van alles en nog wat.
Het zou mijn niet verbazen als jij later nog eens een poos in het buitenland gaat werken want uit jouw berichten lees ik dat je enorm geniet overal van en heel veel werkervaring opdoet.
En je Engels blijft indruk op me maken!
Wat leuk dat Jan en Marjolein binnenkort bij je komen.
Zouden die ook zo goed Engels spreken als jij of moet je met hen mee op pad als tolk? (grapje!).
Ik denk dat Jan en Marjolein zich best redden daar want die zijn ook al heel veel buitenlanden gewend in de loop der jaren.
Ik wens jullie al vast een erg leuke tijd toe daar.
